All About Pocket Knives

I am new to collecting Case XX knives. My husband has gotten me into it. I just bought one today on e-bay and the serial # was said to be 2345 I looked it up but it didnt register. It is from 1945-1964. I know that much and it has 3 blades with a black handle. Can anyone help me out?

Hi Jengill, welcome to the site. The research link here will tell you all about interpreting the CASE numbering system. The first number refers to the type of handle material. The second number the number of blades and the last two numbers the pattern number. To determine the age range of your knife you need to look at the style of the CASE marking. One could hope that is a 6345. They list for about $500 in mint condtion. Can you give us a link to the ebay page. Someone call tell you more about your knife.

if it is a 2345, it has black composition handles, three blades with a couple of blade combos available. is there a 1/2 at the end of the pattern number? what was the ebay item number?

Yes there is a 1/2 at the end of it. The ebay # is 270024005325. I bought it for 28.00 I hope it is not a fake. I think I finally found out a little, but I would like to be sure. Thank you all f or your help!

No , its not a fake, its authentic. $28 was a good price on that knife.
