My Only Straight Razor

I like straight razors but don't collect them however I did buy this nice old Robeson a few years back.

I bought and sold a few a couple years ago but never got the fever like folding knives.

Hey, thanks Gino. No, I can't get the fever for them either. The are lots of gorgeous razors out there though. There was a guy at Parkers knife show that had a lot of really beautiful razors. I sure did enjoy looking at them.

Kewl.......appears to have a hammered tang also.
Took/takes a lot of skill to create a razor, especially one with a little personality to it.

Yes, it does have a hammered tang although it doesn't show very well in the picture.

Nice Robeson. I like those decorative bolster type flourishes.
Is the handle black, or a dark tortoise style?

That's a bit unusual. Usually, Robeson razors with those fancy nickel-silver end-caps or bolsters have one of the fancier celluloids. I've seen them with plain white handles, so black was almost certainly used as well. Most have a mottled red to dark red tortoise appearance.
Here's my example.
