All About Pocket Knives

Hi everyone. Im new to this site and saw a knife like this on here and was wondering about any history or value. I know nothing about it other than it needs wiped down. thanks Tim

To identify that one I would need the exact closed length. It appears to be a first generation Bulldog (1978-1987). But 3 blade first generation Bulldog stockman knives came in 3 1/4, 3 1/2, 3 3/4, and 4 inches. It's a brown bone with a banner shield and pictures of the tang stamps that I can read would be helpful. I suspect it is an early Bulldog (1980 to 1983) because in that time frame many Bulldog knives did not have the year stamped on the tang. After 1983 (approx) they almost all had a year stamped on one of the tangs. Nice Knife!

BKC 51 is 1 of 300 released in 1980. Book value is $100. Ebay would bring about half of that. The closed length dials me in because there were so many stockman sizes around that time.

You're welcome! That knife was made when Charlie Dorton owned Bulldog and was made by Friedrich Olbertz in Solingen Germany. Same company that made Fightn' Roosters.

I was going to guess 1st gen................but that was about all I had.

Where has "olderdogs" been lately, I haven't seen him around.
