All About Pocket Knives

HI Gang!

No doubt I have told many of you about my book project. I hope to be looking at publishing by next spring. My question to everyone is if they would enjoy it as an e-book or would you rather have it in soft cover. Remember that this book isn't a collection guide like some. It is a history book and does have references to tang stamps and dates associated with the various companies of Tidioute. Give me you thoughts if you would enjoy reading this on your computer or would you rather have a hard copy. Of course you can always print out the info you like, but not everyone is computer savy or likes to stare at it all day either.

i prefer a book. it's too hard to drag the computer into the bathroom.

Hi PA. I prefer a hard copy with a proper binding rather than reading on my computer or printing pages. Put me down for one soft-cover bound copy.

Today and in the future, I think I will be in the minority as far as an e-book goes. I certainly like the technology, yet at the same time I spend to much time on PC's and should take the time to curl up with a good knife book.
I would like to see an e-book (condensed version) and a soft cover book, but I would like to see an interactive e-book where reader could interact with the author, what better way to gather information for book #2 due out in 2-3 years? Interacting with your readership, that's a new thing outside of book signings. Maybe both can't be done (financially feasible), but it is something that crossed my mind, "why can't we have the best of both worlds."

First I fell Mossdancer is old like me because I to like to blow the print up large enough to read.

Second I fell females are the only ones that can have the best of both worlds. Sorry Hukk but life teaches me this.

It's too hard to drag the computer into the bathroom but I thought that’s what they made lap tops for.

Hukk does give a good point can you place it on a web site and let some of these super smart men EDIT it with their input. I think a tab in this site would be KOOL with your book in it. OR am I out of line ???

Hi PA. i am glad to see your book is coming along. I myself prefer hard or soft cover book. only because an e-book would put limits on when I could read it. Put me down for a copy when you publish, I can't wait to read it.

But Ken, I could download it to another device such as a PDA and put it in my shirt pocket. You see, WE can have it all!

I like the book on computer I use a laptop.I can drag it into the bathroom!

Ohhh I am torn...I love the ability to read on something that does not have a electronic screen such as a computer, TV etc...And it's kind of hard to jump in the bed lay my head on the pillow and enjoy my laptop.

But in these modern times I seem to have both hands on a keyboard and reading a hardback book has not happened as much lately...

I vote hardcopy but could easily enjoy a web edition...

I like the idea of an on-line book, just because it can be up-dated at any time, but you can't autograph a cyber book. I would like knowing, that David had held my book in his hands and signed it, just for me.
I would display just as proudly, as my other autographed books.
Just my humble opinion. What do ya'll think?

Yes sir PA. Please put me down for a copy of your book. I agree totally with CC Bill an autographed copy would be proudly displayed in the book case in my den next to my knife display case.

See there my knifer friend your book is already popular AND in high demand... my hats off to you for undertaking this project...and we all appreciate it.

Thank you all for the great comments. I will keep you posted as to the progress and what direction I decide to take. It appears to be 50/50 on the e-book idea. Just wanted to test the water. This has been great fun and I look forward to the end. Hopefully by next Summer. It take a lot of time. THank you all that responded.
