All About Pocket Knives

Hello everyone, I suspect that I'll be seeing many familiar folk.
So I'm an avid knife user, collector...tho I have TOO many...
Yes you can have too many..
Hahahahaha

53 years very old...
knives, guns, outdoors...gonna set up my Hennessy hammock later..

Course I started out my experiences with slip joints..Case, Schrade, Camillus..and of course SAK ... Victorinox, usually. And of course BUCK

have a varied collection. I think I was really bitten by the knife bug when I got my first one handed opener, a Blackjack Folding Mamba..Then on to Spysdercos and Benchmades....
Lately it's been fixed customs by Tom Krein, Graham knives and forged by Nowicki..



I have rolls of Benchmades and such.
Among my FAV pocket knives is a old, discontinued Kershaw Wild, Wild Turkey Model 1430.. A TERRIBLE name for a TERRIFIC knife. Slim and lightweight with a thin but sturdy S30 blade and a Ti skeletonized handle.
Opens quick and sharp.

The WWTurkey is the top (smaller). The Hawk is the bottom model.


I can't find my WWTurkey for a coupla weeks so I'm edc'ng a Tom Watson Damascus blade with thumbstud. G10 handles.
Wonderfully detailed, liners, thumbstud. Tuff to get an edge I like tho I'm still working on it.

I'd really like to have some info on that magnifying gizmo you have, there. Never saw one like that, before.

CCBill, the gizmo is am inexpensive pocket or portable microscope. I forget the model just now...I have some 10-30 made for Silver Burdett that don't have the footstand. I keep these in various packs and bags...
When I was working I used to keep my machinists binocular microscope...weighs a bunch.

The footstand model is prolly available on ebay...pretty cheap.

I used this to view edges from factoray and maker. It's pretty enlightening to see an edge after you sharpen and then use it. I was in awe of the molten plastic that was left on an edge after I sliced some heavy plastic bags...

Interesting anyway.

Bummer that I can't find my edge pictures just now..

and I meant to add that I prefer the 10-30 or 40 power to the higher magnification 100x zoom that's in the picture. Easier to see the edge in the viewer.
