All About Pocket Knives

My knowledge (and I'm still learning) ends at taking knives apart replacing scales and kits and the like, but I want to start working on the actual making of springs and blades and the like. So the 0-1 knife stock at places like Jantz or Texas knife supply is this ready to be shaped, filed etc? Or will it need to be annealed first?

I've always bought my O1 to date from Jantz. It comes precision ground and annealed.

I used to use Enco to buy O-1, similar prices but just ground and annealed not precision ground. No $10.00 handling fee on 36 inch bars that I saw on Jantz - so that saves right there. Plus Enco is in Nevada which is real close to me so I save on shipping.

Oh, I forgot, Enco is owned by MSC Direct (last I heard) and have most of the same tools and materials, just better prices than MSC.
