Was takin pics today. Got in a hurry.

That scar right above my knuckle is compliments of a TL-29 in 1972.

Daddy always told me, "DAMMIT BOY! Don't ever open more than ONE blade at a time on a pocket knife!"

I didn't listen then either.

Hey Willie! Did you sew that up yourself like Rambo, or did the Doc do it?

My Dad played College Football at West Texas State in Canyon back in the 50s. My mom said when he would bust his chin open (no face mask's back then) the team Doc would sew it up on the sidelines with no anet.....anathe.....no pain-killer shot, and send him back in the game.

Can you imagine any of today's Pros doing that?

I sewed it up with that new skin stuff.

I was out of good super glue. The thi8n CA you get at the model plane shops works the best. Guess I need to get another bottle.

First time I ever tried that new skin stuff. Works pretty good so far.

Ol Dad was tough.

I use super glue in my shop as well.
It works great, except when you can't get it to stick because it is bleeding too much.
When that happens I start at one end and glue glue a small area and work across the gash until I get it closed.
It is a lot easier than trying to sew yourself!

Guys Super glue will no doubt hold skin edges together BUT It is Highly Toxic to the tissues

Well Wullie, I just got the 31 SAB today and while cleaning it up a little I did the same thing, except to the palm side left hand same finger right where the first joint folds. I feel your pain -- YES!!

Are you sure about that Barry?
I know it was developed and used in Vietnam because it was faster than stitching up a wound up by hand.

I was cleaning a blade and it cut through the cloth and found my finger tip!

Wullie I'm just glad to hear you weren't taking pictures of your new chainsaw.
There's some stuff called QR powder which stops bleeding quickly
for regular cuts, think package says not for use on deep wounds.

I might still have you beat on photo oops tho Wullie.
this is from Aug.07, tripped fell on patio while taking pics
landed mainly on left elbow.
High blood sugar helped get the infection going which elevates
blood sugar which feeds the infection....
Cardiologist said I was fine, GP looked at it about 4pm had me in hospital by 6.
Seems to be some difference of opinion there.
I like my new cardiologist a lot better.


GP said once the elbow swelling & redness gets to the knuckles,
time to do something like IVs if want to save the arm.

As for CA glue? I'm with Dale on this one. It was originally developed to replace stitches.

Now, as for Barry's statement. The stuff they sell in model shops is NOT USP grade and is NOT recommended nor endorsed for such silliness.

I sliced that same finger one afternoon when a 1.5HP Saito 4 stroke model plane engine backfired when I propped it with my finger INSTEAD of a stick. It was swinging a 16" fiber prop with a very sharp trailing edge. The prop hit my finger on the side nearest middle finger about halfway down the nail. It cut a small artery and blood was squirting nicely. When I couldn't get it to stop bleeding with cold water, I glued it with "thin" CA. It stopped the bleeding immediately and healed up so well that I have to look really hard to see where it was cut.

That NU-Skin stuff REALLY works. I think I'm gonna like it better than CA because this stuff has a bit of flexibility and you really don't notice it's even on there. Got an anti-bacterial agent in it as well. Dale you ought to get a bottle and give it a shot. Wally world has it. My wife got tired of me leaking all over everything and went and got a bottle of it for me. They use it at the flower shop where she works to fix boo-boos from the knives I sharpen for 'em.

Regular old table sugar will work in a pinch to get a cut to stop bleeding too. That used to be my standby before I found out about all this high tech stuff. Just work it into the cut and stay away from the ants.

I didn't have any success with the nu-skin product I tried.
Must not have held my tongue right.
Went back to the QR powder. And try to be more careful.
And got rid of the seahorse whittilators, not sure why they
tend to bite more often than other patterns...or other whittlers.

And I will tell all of you guys I am in the Medical profession Super Glue will hold the skin closed But the makeup of it is TOXIC to the cell in human tissue I have more than once had to remove it from a wound and do a large Debridement of the wound for DEAD tissue caused by the Superglue. Keep using it if you want but it will catch up with you IMHO.

to cellulitis & admission papers.

which amazingly was right on the bullseye.

this time other than knee & elbow pads combined with a helmet.
