1917 Remington bayonet

How can I tell if mines the real thing? This isn't mine but mine does have these same markings on the blade.

Not a great picture but this is mine. The scabbard seems to new to be authentic?

Hi Tom;
A closeup of yours would be nice. The sheath is correct, it is a second issue. It was also used for the US m 1905 and a couple more. Here are some clips from a book. Yours is more than likely number 2. I do have the leather sheath but for the time being I am holding on to it.

Not being an expert on anything I can only offer opinions. I cannot figure why one of these would be counterfeited. It does appear to be over stamped. I would think it was a British Model that was converted as mentioned in write up of number 1. An example of my gullibility, were I to see it for sale at a reasonable price I would make at least an offer.
