All About Pocket Knives

I a have a friend that was been looking for info SCHRADE 2 OT.

Any one here have one. PLEASE show it here or any info on it.

He realy wants it bad. Even if it is at some other site.

Any help on this sure would ez his and my pain.

The 2OT was a smooth bone handled jack, only ran for two years, 1961-62. It was the first in the line of Old Timer knives, along with the 8OT. That particular one you show in the photo was the first I'd seen with an advertisement. They don't go cheap, often hovering around $300 in very good condition, Here's a shot of a couple, along with one in not so great shape:

I got mine in a trade at a gun show in the summer of 2008. Mine is a NFS version.

ea42 have some slabs put on that third one and TOTE THAT MUUUUTHA

I have a John Primble version of the 2OT, with waterfall celluloid handles.
It is a nice knife, I really like it.
I looked for one for 4 or 5 years before I found this one.
It has a very unusual blade pattern, a spear master and a secondary coping blade.

That's a great example Dale!! Do you know the time period of that one??

Of course, we do know that pattern dates back to the Schrade Cut Co days, as seen below. This is a 2202 compared to a 2OT.

Dale, is the number on that 5739? I don't see that as an active Schrade/Belknap contract knife in the 1966 specs book. The bolsters also look to be a different design, and note the notched tang on the coping blade, that may possibly be another manufacturer, possibly Utica?

The difference in the bolsters is pretty obvious, and the notch in the tang too, if you take the trouble to enlarge the photos, but as me dear old gran mither used to say.......

Yes, the number is 5739.
Do you have any Schrade/Belknap contract info from 1960 to 1963?
It would seem to me that would be the most likely date that Schrade would have made that knife for Belknap, or perhaps earlier yet during the Schrade Cut Co era as Charlie noted.

Could it have been Utica? Humm...........?
I don't have any Utica catalogs. Do you have any Utica info showing a similar knife?

Well I thought I had seen a Utica with that bolster, but it was the same as the Schrade bolster. Galvanic had posted it a while back. Still searching for a similar design, but it's a tough one
