Just like the subject line says who wants to hear about the upcoming File & Wire and Schatt & Morgan series releasing in 2010? Here is a little taste of what is coming: one-bladed swaybelly, one-blade pearl horoculturist, a large moose, a small muskrat, a railsplitter whittler, five-blade sowbelly, a large toothpick (5 1/2" closed), and a two-blade medium coke bottle. Do you want more yet?

Hi wasteland16354,thanks for the teaser. I heard that Series XX (20) is going to be a heavy set, up to 10 knives,is that true? Can you give us a clue as to the type handle material or materials that are to be used. Any word on the Preimer Series hold up? Thanks

Right now, there is eight new ones. They're all out for photography at the moment. Most of them, there is only one made of the them, are hand made. The File & Wire is using the same handle material as 2009 series. The Schatt & Morgan handle material is unknown to me , but I do know it is jigged and brown. And the preimer is the top priority. Just the functionality of lock that is the headache, but that is being rememdied.

I'll see if I can post some picks of the set.

that sounds like a great lineup for the f & w series.
i've been dying to see one of those premier lockback whittlers ever since clarence risner told me about it.

you know, after re-reading this list, a couple of things jumped out at me.
i don't know if i've ever seen a railsplitter whittler before. that's got me really intrigued.
also, unless i'm mistaken, this could be the first s&m 5-blade sowbelly, right?
i know queen made some for case classics and maybe winchester back in the day, but i don't remember seeing one under the s&m name.
this has me really excited!

Railsplitter whittler is a first for Queen, it is very eye catching. The 5-blade sowbelly is also a first in the S&M line.

Justin, can you share any more information on the premier?

justin, i've heard that the s&m line is going to be marketed a little differently after the release of series 20.
is there any truth to that?
also, just to clear up my own confusion - the patterns you mentioned above are the new f&w series, or series 20?

Sorry say I don't anything about being marketed differently after series 20. The patterns I mentioned are both. The swaybelly and the large toothpick are File & Wire, and the rest is series 20.

so, series 20 will be some sort of brown jigged bone and will consist of:
large moose
small muskrat
railsplitter whittler
five-blade sowbelly
two-blade medium coke bottle
plus, a one-blade pearl horticulturist

the upcoming file & wire patterns are:
one-blade swaybelly
large toothpick

and the 10th pattern in the premier line will be:
humpback lock-back whittler

sounds like 2010 will be a good year!

This time with the swaybelly it has a new blade in it made for this series. And the large toothpick that is being used hasn't been used yet in the any of the series or Queen line. It is bigger than the pattern 20 toothpick by 1/2".

On the this page, WelderBob posted some pics of the orginal toothpick that Schatt & Morgan made. That is the toothpick that is being this time. Most of the dies being used in production were made back in 1918, so most of the orginal tooling that was used by Schatt & Morgan has been dug out to make it. The last time the tooling has been used was when Queen was making the Case Classics and from what I have been told Queen never used it in the product line. The dies have been collecting dust for the 15 years. It is a beautiful addition.

It will not have a saber grind on it this time around. But maybe the next time. I was pushing for it this time but they already decided on what they wanted.

Really? I'm not surprised in the least that Queen is kinda repeating itself.
In the F&W Series there are already 3 swing guards and 2 toothpicks. Why not another?

Yes, but isn't this one of the few places that these patterns appear in the Schatt & Morgan line..I can only think of one other time that the Swing Guards appeared as an SFO and the Toothpicks were of the smaller size.

Series XV includes a 3" Black Lip Mother of Pearl Mini Toothpick.
