All About Pocket Knives

Heres one more of these fake R1225's. Theres several of these out there on the market now. I don't know who made them but I've saw several of them and they all came from the same source.

I don't know Remingtons, but I am getting to know Camillus.

Without seeing the tang I would say it is a Camillus #23.
The tangs of both blades are identical as are the swedge and plunge line.
The only differences are where the lines are different from the blades being thinned out to remove the stamping.
Even the pin placement in the handles appears identical.

I don't know who made them, but it is plain to see what they made them from.

I believe if ya bought that one, you'd still be lookin' for a super nice old Remington.

The knife is indeed a reworked Camillus #23. When these first started hitting the market, we discussed them in depth right here on the counterfeit forums and it was determined that the #23 was the original knife these were made from. The etch has been made with some type of laser, if you examine one up close it almost looks like it was put on by a tiny mig welder. It has a rough edge around the perimeter of the letters.

I think it is still a nice looking knife and would make a good carry, if the price was right.

I love the pattern and have several of the Camillus #23. I even have one to EDC.


remington collector-
There seem to be spun heads on the front and handle pins, but the rocker pin seems to be ground down.
Is this correct for a Remington?
Also, what is the date range for the Remington R1225?

This is a nice learning thread. I like Remingtons, and want to learn more. I did some looking
in my books today. I found that the camillus is listed at 4 3/16" closed and the Rem at4 1/4" closed. Also I found two different R1125's One with a short pull and one with the long pull.
Also two different shields. I used Sargents 6th and Stewart and Ritchie Big Book and some in my Remington book.

I emailed the guy asking if he were going to relist it or if he sold it off line and he said that after further research he determined that it may not be authentic. I made him an offer but i've never heard back. Looks a lot like that big equal end jack Boker I have with the French Ivory handles.

Do you have a pic of that Boker?
I am thinking that if it was a Boker USA, that Camillus may have made it.
