Etching on knife blades

I have lots of knife blades that have words like SCHRADE, SUPER SHARP, and SCRIMSHAW on them. When I use a knife polish (FLITZ) on them to clean them up. The words fade and not look real nice. I tried using some clear tape on them to protect the lettering but then it shows were I taped it because it not shinny like the rest of the blade. Is their some thing I should do to stop the fading?

Howdy justold52,

If you must use polish on your etched blades, stay away from the etched part as all polishes have some type of an abrasive in them & will dull & take away from all Lazar etched blades! ....I dry wipe all of my Lazar etched blades then use a product called Renaissance Wax I bought from I_like_knives (Glenn), check out his knife store on this site!
