Are the Aged Honey Amber Stag Bone pocket knives by Queen a good knife, Im thinking about buying a Trapper?

I personally think that Queen is the best build production knives for the $ on the market today.
This of coarse is just my opinion. Queen uses D-2 steel which has better wear resistants than 1095 or CV blade steel and is a + in my book. The carved bone is a good looking handle material and gives good purchase.
I have never been disappointed in any knife from Queen. But if I was I would not hesitate to return it. This is were a good dealer comes into play!

I have one of the amber honey bone trappers in stock that a local guy is wanting. He has to part with a .22 in order to have some money for some knife purchases so I'm holding it for him.

It's the first Queen I've had in stock that is new and I must say that I'm impressed. Feels much better quality than Case in in my opinion ranks up there in fit and finish with Great Eastern, yet they have them in the smaller style knives that are a little easier to carry than the bigger GECs for an EDC knife.

As for the D2 tool steel blades, I have made many knives in 20 years of custom knifemaking and many of the first knives I made were out of D2. Very good quality steel that really holds an edge well yet is still fairly easy to sharpen.

I don't think you would be disappointed in any Queen purchase. Besides, there is just something about that amber honey bone that really looks great!

Queen is really doing damage to Case business with these ACSB knives. Beautiful and still very affordable! You can't go wrong....

Just got my Carved Honey Amber Bone Trapper in the mail today it really is a great knife! Queen cutlery is truly a great company that a lot of people dont talk about. I ordered it off of Risner Cutlery. Ill be buying more Queens from now on!

What is the going rate on a Queen Trapper? There is one at a pawn shop, I don't know about a box, but is a bone handled, jigged, and never carried or sharpened. He is asking 60 ish, has 79 marked on it. I am really into the mini trappers, but if the price is right, wont turn this one down.

About $10 high check out www.crisnercutlery.com the mini Trapper is around $50 & the full size just a couple bucks more.

Does anyone know if Queens sales are good? I think if they were more known they would sell a lot more knives. Im really impressed with the Trapper I got!

Jeffrey, there have been many people that have carried Queen made knives without knowing they were doing so because the Queen made knife had a different name stamped on the blade and shield. The same goes for Camillus/Schrade and Utica. Queen Cutlery is well known, they are just mistakenly over looked. Queen, Bear & Son, and Utica have had to step up to make the knives that Camillus/Schrade used to make for other name brand companies. I don't know Queen's finances but I wouldn't think they have any sales problems. They sure make a good quality knife though, don't they?

I love my new Trapper its really a well made knife, and it has the antique feel to it. The way the jigging is and the quality just doesnt feel mass produced. I will be buying more Queens in the future!

Queen makes knives for Mooremaker, older Winchesters and even Case Classics. I have owned Case knives for years and the quality is great, but Queens quality is every bit as good and for less money.

I ordered a Curley Zebra African Hardwood Trapper #19 from Queen and was disappointed in the finish they put onto the wood. Must be a hard eurethane. At any rate, I am in the process of stripping it down and will put an oil finish on. That shiny, laquery, eurethany finish just doesn't do it for me. Too much of the woods beauty is hidden. I could have returned it but I like the knife and it has turned out to be a fun project for me. I am a Trapper maniac and this Queen is worthwhile in my collection. I have a Case in Koa wood that is done right. Another disappointment in the Queen was that one of the brass pins was peened too hard or something and it is not round on the end, it is smashed. It is filed and polished flush with the scale but oblong. Quality control should have kicked it out. I would return the next one and exchange it.

I just got a S&M 2001 series XI Phsicians knife. Nice peach bone handle. One side has a crack in it. Any idea on how long Queens will go back and repair a cracked handle? The knife is about 10 years old now.

I an thoughts would be welcome.

justold52 At last years Queen factory tour I handed over my friends 2003? #9 Delrin Cherry handled Stockman with a chipped Spey blade to Jennifer Moore , with his return address.She told me she would see what they could do to fix the blade, about a month later Queen sent out my friends Stockman with a new Spey blade no charge.

On page 90 of Queens 08-09 catalog The Queen Warranty states -

" When you put your trust in Queen Cutlery by purchasing one of our products, you can rest assured that we at Queen take your loyalty seriously. If any of our products ever fail due to workmanship or faulty materials, Queen will fix or replace it free. Our guarantee is offered in this "no nonsense" manner because we believe in what we do and we know you will too."

I will call them and with a note in the box return it to the factory.

I have sent back 2 knives in the past but they were new knives.

And yes it took some time but came back like new.

Im thinking of buying the whittler pattern now for my EDC
