All About Pocket Knives

here are a few case knives with wooden handles. let's see what else is out there?
i know mine are kind of common but i know you guys have some show stoppers.

After seeing your knives nobody else needs to post their blades You got your own show stoppers don't you...I love the jigging on the handles and the quality of your knives is apparent...

Sunburst, you are right that johnnie certainly has some mighty fine looking pieces. Just for the heck of it though here's two very old Case Brothers Knives(C.1900-1912) with wood handles. The top is ebony and the bottom cocobolo.

Bottom right.- three dot Case 6165L.

Fixed, left to right:

1.- Othello integral blade-tang-guard-pommel
2.- My first fixed blade, German Boy Scout from the mid 60's, originally had a stag handle that became loose and I rehandled it in stacked plywood.
3.- Othello Yukon Hunter.

Hi, most of my knives have yet to be unpacked but here is one French knife with juniper wood. It looks and smells very nice The old horseman's knife also has wood scales. s-k

heres mine. its a 10 dot, case xx 1980 texas lock horn.

Now entering the arena, our next contestant.....

An Italian made Delta Z, with blue-brown Maple burl scales.....

Here are some pictures of a few old wood handled knives. First knife is a 5 3/8" Springbrook knife co. Second is a 3 3/4"winchester # 2640 coke bottle. The last picture is Pacific Hardware and Steel Jack 3 3/4" top and a keen kutter 3 5/8"coffin jack very early stamped E, C. Simmons St. Louis on both blades bottom. I am sorry about the picture quality any advise on pictures would be welcome. Stockman

Here's one that I have. Nothing special or fancy, just a good everyday user. Case 1977, 61051.

The top one is one of my favorite old knives. I have shown it here before.
It is a large Maher & Grosh TOLEDO O. HawkBill. It has been used lightly, but never abused. You can still see and feel the original etch on the blade face. Nice & fat colobolo(?) handles with a burl 'like' pattern.

The bottom is an Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett ebony Jack knife.

How about some Texas Black Walnut.

This is a knife that I did for a friend. The wood was cut by my friend and his cousin from their Texas century farm (farm that has been continuously owned and operated by the same family for over 100 yrs.)

I have made three of these for the men of the family.

Yes the good old Buck 110, I used to have a 112, nice knife. In the same style here's my Schrade LB7 (pasted in background is Eyipantla falls in Veracruz, Mexico).

I have a old New York knife Co. display knife. It's 26 1/2" long open. 11" closed.

What? You thought I couldn't get wood? Never really been a problem...
These three are Case Classic knives. The knife in the top picture has Jigged Oak scales. The second and third knives pictured have scales made from Bois D'Arc wood. I've been told that this material is is also referred to as Osage Orange, or Bodock wood. Incidentally, these knives are engraved "Proto" in the Long-Tail C on the back of the blade, except for the Jigged Oak clasp, which was marked "Prototype" using the electro-etch method.

Nice Knives guys, I really like the Case Brothers knives by blade runner. Been looking for a nice Case Brothers Little Valley for awhile. Here are my wood handle knives to add to the show. The Maher & Grosh was an ebay purchase about 7 years ago. The knife with the razors is a WH Sample Albany NY jack.
