All About Pocket Knives

The stock knife has always been 1 of my favorite jack knife patterns. Most all traditional slipjoint manufacturers have a Stockman in their line up. But I have never seen anyone other than S&M with this particular handle shape. If anyone has any others please post them. The Reverse Gunstock pattern bit me HARD right from the 1st time I saw it. So I thought this pattern #043150 would made a good thread. I'm sure that I have all the different handle materials that Queen has produced, in both the Annual Reproduction Sets and the SFO's plus an oddball or 2. Now if we could just get Queen to make this pattern in something other than 420HC I'd be quite happy. I've been after Clarence for over a year now to get the pattern made in 1095 steel. Even though it is large at 4 1/4" closed, a 1095 model would become my ultimate EDC. I'm sure I would wear out the front pockets before the jeans were done! Anyway I'm a big fan of this pattern... anyone else?? Here are a few to start.

The other side in case Ralph shows up. A Pearl A new release called Pecan bone And a smooth Red Brick bone Red has always been a favorite so I'll go with the Fire Oak Dave

Here's one from Canal Street. I do not have the paperwork for this one so I'm not sure when it was produced. I recall reading where Queen made some of the early Canal Street knives while they were getting geared up for production.
It sure shows a lot of similarity to the Queen design as do seveal of their other patterns.
Nice knife. It would be a pocketfull.

Yes, Queen was making some of the early Canal Street parts. We would make all the parts, but not assemble it, thet did all the finishing and assembling. They're beautiful pattern!

Great Looking Knives Guys!!

While taking the pics for this thread I found something I never noticed before.
The stockman from the 3rd Annual Reproduction Series, the Winterbottom bone set. Has a pen blade instead of a spey!! I checked all my other knives of this pattern and they all have a spey. Now I wonder why this came to be?? Maybe Queen had extra pen blades that year! Dave

knowtracks check the bolsters on the Series III,they are different than all the rest. They are parallel. You have some very nice Reverse Gunstocks! The gunstock is one of my favorites also.

Hey look at that, I never noticed that either! The bolsters "point" to the springs on all the other models. I've had this particular knife better than 10 years & never noticed it being different.

The Flathead reference is from "Jeremiah Johnson" it seemed fitting because I know a few & they mess with me by speaking their own language.

Dave, Jeremiah Johnson was a very good movie; I thought the term "Flathead" was in reference to Motorcycles.

The "Tejanos/Mexicanos" try that down here.

I speak their language and it upsets them.

As far as Flathead goes? Mi no Sabe.

I really like that pattern and plan on getting one one of these days. Nice collection knowtracks, How about a lineup shot?

At 4 1/4" long this pattern is large for the front pocket. But then again I've carried large pocket knives all my live. So I don't personally have a problem with this pattern. It does have squarish corners which don't help much. Dave
