Curt you will most likely get a faster answer if you put this post on the Buck knife forum here on AAPK. There will be some Buck men that will come along here shortly and give you the information you are seeking.

I think that one was referred to as the "pathfinder". I bought one like it in the early 60's with money I made from the bounty they used to pay on coyotes. They paid $5.00 for every pair of ears you turned in and I had enough to buy a knife like that and couple of more boxes of 22 ammo to keep after the coyotes. Thinking back that was in 1964 and I was 12.
It gutted a lot of deer and cut a lot of stuff. The blade on mine was so hard it was no fun to try to sharpen.
Mine was stolen along with a lot of other stuff when I was in Viet-Nam.
I do not know the years of production for that knife.

Hi Curt:
I am enclosing a page of Buck material that should give you what you need to know. The date hinges on the sheath, if original to the knife it would be during or after 64 and before 68
