All About Pocket Knives

Does anybody have one of these yet? What is your opinion?

No, But I really like the Small Barlow with the small warncliff blade. I like both Burke Barlows alot. What are the lengths of both the small and large barlows? How much will these knives cost?

The small barlow is 3 1/2" closed and the large is 5" closed.

Mike, I like 'em so much I just bought one of the small 2 blade barlows from you this morning right after i saw it! Ka-Blam! Hope you keep the daddy in stock long enough for me to get one of them.

TM, let me know what you think of it when it arrives. They are doing the old "rough grind" on the blades a little more often now; but I like that much more than mirror polished with grind lines.

You probably dropped one of those small Barlows in the mail for me today. I like the blade combination and the steel, and Queen always seems to make a good quality knife.

I'd been trolling your website for about a week trying to decide what to get, then this one popped up and it was an easy decision.

I received the small Barlow today. Thanks to Mike for getting it out so quickly. It's a nice, solid knife. Good fit and finish. The scales are well done - enough texture to give some grip, but not so coarse as to be bothersome. I thought Queen could have done a better job finishing the pins, but that is a minor thing. Both blades have a half stop. The springs are strong. Both springs sit slightly proud in the half stop position, but are absolutely flush when the blades are completely open. Both blades are sharp and the edge grinds are dead even on both sides. I like the spear/wharncliffe combination. The nail nicks both face to the outside. I like the finish on the blades. I guess you would call it a belt finish, but they went to a fairly fine grit, significantly finer than the finish on my Case knives with a belt finish.

I'm very pleased with the knife and I'm sure it will see plenty of pocket time.

popedandy's review was spot on. I like the finish on the blades and that there's no etching. Perfect size at 3 1/2 inches. Here's a few pics of the knife in hand

what's the spring layout on that thing?

i like the two bladed barlow, but i don't know why they put the nail marks on opposite sides.
i think i would've liked it better if they'd flipped the position of the blades (put the little wharncliffe in front) and put the nail marks on the same side of both blades.

Hi mitoO - The canoe has 3 springs, each about equally thick with a brass liner between them. The springs seem a bit thicker than most. I tried to get a picture of them.
