All About Pocket Knives

I'm glad to see this sub forum here also, it's about time.
So I'll start with the F&W Series. Each series has 5 knives, this one has Burnt Red Bone Wormgroove scales. The 1st knife (Folding hunter) was only made in Queen Steel, 440A, the others were made in both Queen steel & ATS-34. The File & Wire Series started in 1998.

The 2nd Series has Red Bone Wormgroove Scales, the 1st 2 knives (Stockman & Teardrop) were made in Queen steel, then from the Congress on all are made in ATS-34 steel.

3rd Series has Golden Root Wormgroove Scales. All knives have ATS-34 blade steel.

4th Series has Pennsylvania Moss Green Wormgroove scales. All blade steel is ATS-34.

The 5th Series starts with this giant cool lockback folder. I do like the lines on this knife!
Queen changed the bone to Morning Ash, which appears to me that after the worm groove jig was done they dyed the whole scale black and then sanded & polished back the exterior of the scale. Leaving it natural with just a hint of dye in a couple of places besides the grooves.
This baby is large at 5 7/16" closed with a 4 1/2" ATS-34 blade. It is just under 10" OAL.
Kind of a short long pull, saber ground blade with a nice swedge completes the package.

I received my Saddlehorn today from Mike Latham. Very impressive knife! Dull, but that's not unexpected with Queen. I'll resolve that this weekend. I'm quite happy with it.

The 2nd addition of the 5th series is what Queen calls a "Daddy Toothpick" it is 5 1/2" closed and 9 3/4" OAL. With the "Morning Ash" bone scales. Dave

I wasn't quick on any trigger Ken! This particular knife has been out for at least 3 weeks. It has been siting on my bench for a week waiting for me to get time to take a few pics.

The 3rd addition is a large (4 1/8" closed) Wharncliffe single blade knife. Queen advertises as a Swayback (which it obviously is not) I think it's built on the Swaybelly frame but with just 1 blade. I really like this frame shape, it just feels great to use. I've always been a Wharncliffe fan so this knife is right down my alley. It has a 3 1/4" blade, kind of a short long pull, lined bolster, half stop, and a nice swedge.
I'll be interested to see if Queen continues with these larger models in the future.

Very cool knives. I really like the congress in the second series.
For some reason it reminds me of old cowboy movies.

I like any green bone but that black/white is different also.. Nice.. John

Or any knowledgeable S & M knife guy! I just listed a Trapper and described it as File & Wire. Admittedly I don't know all that much about Schatts! I assumed that this mark made it a File and Wire knife.................Help!!!!! Or is it just the Trademark for Schatt?

In this case the File & Wire is the trade mark and not one of the File & Wire Series......the series has a "SXM" shield...what you have is an SFO but I don't know from whom.

Will a File and Wire knife have the blade etch that says so in every case?

Here's an example...and all File&Wire ( to date )will have the same blade etch and shield
