All About Pocket Knives

I would really appreciate comments on your opinion of which of these two knives you like better. Wife says pick one out and get it but I am having a hard time on the "picking"...

Talk the wife into both knives and then do something really-REALLY nice for her. I'm taking my wife for a weekend get-away this weekend and I get to go diving. I bought her a beautiful wall clock last weekend. Jewelry works well for my wife, as long as it doesn't turn her finger green.

Actually...I'm with Hukk...But if its just one I say the MOP...That one is killer Love the bolsters

MOP!!! The bolsters would be the deciding factor for me...Great looking knives!!!

I don't mean to get you in trouble but you can't go wrong with the MOP, but the Wormgroove, Oh man, I see why you posted this, MOP slight edge--covet both.

That baby sunfish is too young to be taken away from its mother.
Get the wildcat driller, so you can actually use it. MOP is for safe queens, in my opinion.

I would pick the Pearl one. I could use it or display it either way, it is a gift.

If you are getting one to grow in value/put back, this would be it. With those bolsters & etch, I do not believe you can go wrong long term.

Love the great big Mother of Pearl handle scales on the top knife. I think I'd go with that one.

I do like the wildcat driller pattern a LOT though... and the Queen worm groove is very nice... Maybe I'd go that route.

Heck... I don't know It might be best just to flip a coin.

Definitely the President's , they are ltd ed, the wildcat will be around for a while, and then, you'll have both ,. Now isn' that what you, and we all, REALLY WANT???

my vote is for the mother of pearl. they are both great looking knives but you can never go wrong with a mop.

Both are nice but I sure do like that MOP.

Well again I need help. I think you say MOP meaning mother of pear right so far?
Now this I not under stand what’s the difference from mother of pearl and just pearl?

pearl is an object formed inside an oyster and other mollusks. mother of pearl is taken from the inside smooth interior of the shell of several varieties of mollusk.

I would go with the MOP baby sunfish. But would be estatic to have either one in my collection.

Well after much consideration (ahh not that much) I used the advice given by my knifer friends and mailed off my check for the purchase of the MOP Baby Sunfish...

Ps Johnnie was explaining the origin of MOP handles and it brought up a question I have always wondered about. How is the MOP taken from the mollusk and processed into a form used for knife scales/handles???

sunburst, from what i've read mop is actually made in sections, split from the outer shell and attached to a base material. made in large sheets and cut to size. that would explain the size requirements for handle material.
maybe someone else knows more about it.
