well loved, rehandled.
forgot i had this...was out in the woods and ended up stripping 25 logs with this baby last week...
it had been under the seat for three years since i last sharpened, held it's edge and did the job better than a draw knife.

That is a beautiful ax! I have a couple of these axes and they have a lot of miles on them, but that being said they "keep on trucking" and function as good as they did 50 years ago. I can't my pictures of them right now I'll check my other hard-drive and maybe post some later.

A good hatchet is always something that is great to have in a vehicle. Lots of the less expensive ones have cheese for steel, and in cases like a UTV, it has to be something fairly thin and light, as well as small to fit between the backrest and seat of the Kubota RTV900 we have. A buddy of mine has an old Plumb much like his, and he swears by it. I use an Estwing for most stuff. Marble's has a reproduction of the old #3 with a Zytel handle that does light stuff really well.
