Handle material question

An odd handled Case knife that I picked up awhile back, can anybody help this hillbilly out?

No pattern stamp on this one

Yep, no pattern number, with a kinda off-center lookin badge. Kinda worried bout this one actually.

I'm more worried about that XX era shield with those handles. Can you open 'er up for us Jethro?

Its bout 2 15/16 closed, & I don't believe they made a small congress then. Plus,now that I got a good blown up pic, ain't no dots between the U.S.A , I got a turd fo sho.

That knife has clearly been apart and rehandled and wrong shield pinned on and not a very good job of it :x
That blade dates it to 1977.

That is a rehandled 6269. Case never made the 69 pattern in stag anyway, even in the XX era.

My guess is that someone took a 70's delrin 6269 and rehandled it with a XX era shield to replace the "composition" shield that would have been on a delrin handled knife.

That looks like a 4 dot '76 blade with one dot not fully stamped. It could be a 3 dot though. The 6269 was discontinued as of the 11/1/78 price list; but I don't think that any were actually made with two dots.

That stag wouldn't be right on any Case knife. This one kind of makes you wonder what the guy had on his mind when he put it together.
