I got this one from Smokey Mountain Knifeworks. I called and bought it during the knives live program on channel 221 on Dish Network. Anybody watch that?

Hi LBB,
My wife and I have had Dish Network for the last 3 years in Santa Rosa, CA. Good deal, better quality picture than cable and we do get the knife shows from Smokey Mountain Knifeworks. I do watch the shows from time to time, a lot of Frost Cutlery, which I don't like.
From Frost Cutlery comes the Steel Warrior (by Frost Cutlery), made in China. I hate to say it, but they make great user knives. I wouldn't collect them, but for a knife that can take abuse, it's hard (impossible) to beat the price on these guys. I've never bought anything from them, I wouldn't buy a Frost, but the Steel Warriors made by Frost is a pretty tough little knife. They are made from 440 stainless, I have a Saddlehorn, I use it all the time. Hate to admit it, but the quality of these has improved vastly in the last couple years and can challenge most of the better knives on the market.

For $15.00, it puts many $40.00 knives to shame. I hate to admit that!

Hi Hukk, thanks for the info. I have DirecTv, and I don't think I get the Smokey Mtn Knifeworks program. I get something put on by Cutlery Corner, and from what I can tell it's 100% Frost offerings, mostly tactical and fantasy type knives that they sell in huge lots.
I'd love a knife based home shopping show that offered the US and even German made stuff, like Queen, Bulldog, etc.
I know what you mean about the Chinese stuff. I bought a Boker Magnum sowbelly stockman, just out of curiosity, and I was astounded at the fit and finish, considering it cost me about ten bucks.
Regards,
Jim

longbeachbum, I used to have DirecTv and watched the SMKW show but I don't remember the channel. I think it comes on Monday nights and it will be on one of the home shopping channels. On Dish, I can see the show on Friday and Monday nights. There is a lot of knives on there that I am not interested in but they also have some nice American knives as well. I like Queen, Schatt & Morgan, Robeson, and Case XX. They also have some nice Marbles knives which I understand some of them are made by Queen.
