I have a three blade case knife that I have determined was made in 1970. It has no numbers to identify the pattern, blade, etc. What is the best way to indetify?
The knife is 3.5" long when closed.

ok, first welcome. there are books and reference material available. if you can't locate this material for sale, try your library. next post a picture here in this forum. many of our members can help with the id. if possible show the blade markings in a closeup photo. if you don't have a camera, carefully draw what is on the bladesand scan them in. no scanner? measure the closed knife and describe each blade. i hope this helps.

hey dwyatt, not knowing the closed length, it appears to be a 6318shpen. 6 indicates handle material, 3 indicates the number of blades, 18 is the pattern number. sh = sheepefoot blade and pen = pen blade. this pattern has many combinations of blade styles. the large clip blade is the constant.
