I am not too familiar with newer Case knives, other than patterns.
I believe this is called Red Stag, pattern number stamped on pen blade is R52052.
Feels well made & thick. Two springs, one for each blade.
Can someone give me any other info.

Thanks for your time. ::nod::

Howdy Rick,

Very nice piece my friend! I'M not too familiar with the newer Case knives either but I think this one you have here is a 1992 year made & you are right about it being Red Stag Rick, the R in front of the 5 in the pattern number indicates the color Red, the number 5 indicates the handle is Stag, the next number 2 would mean the number of blades & the last three numbers (052) would indicate that this Congress is of the medium size Congress patterns ....These are increasing in value every year & I would say market value on this piece you have here with the original box has a market value between $100 to $145 or maybe more!

4 dots under the long tail C means 1996 - 2000 minus 4 = 1996.

Odd looking stag, but that pattern number would be correct for modern red stag.

Thanks Folks for the info.

Had to cut down & up an apple tree this morning. Think I will do something inside for awile. Too Hot/Humid for me.

Since Case has got all the different bones, stags, designs, makin' this for that, and stamps these days, maybe everybody is starting to get a littled confused. Not to mention Counterfeits!

I wanted to made sure it was not is some kinda set or short run also.
I found a few of them on eBay, but no congress or history/dating.

It came to me in a trade.......I am thinking about putting it in the Boss's yard sale and see what happens, I want to be sure it is Stag.

Hey knifeaholic & Rick,

Thanks for clearing the air on the year made made on Rick's knife, its always nice to be corrected by a pro + I have learned something to boot! Would knifeaholic care to comment on the run amount for this piece as I would like to know, I think its 500 pieces but not sure?

Rick, what I like the most on your Case - 1996 - R52052 are the handles & if I were you I would keep this here piece for its uniqueness in the handle material but that's just my humble opinion my friend!

Rick, "Hot" is the word for down here alright & my Laura says "Hey" back at ya, you should see her Angel Trumpet plants she has been growing for a few years now (WOW ::tu:: ), if I can get her to take some shots of them I will send you photos later on my friend ....Talk to you later & thanks for your knife post!
