thought i would show off mine. fit and finish are superb. and sharp to boot. the mark side is polished while the other is satin. #131 on the bolster.

thanks sunburst. i "of course" only wanted to inspect. if this knife is indicative of their other offerings, you can't go wrong. i collect case but i like a little variety now and then. i have a queen/robeson mastercraft as well that is of very high quality.

i paid $50.00. i wanted it.

item # or pattern #? 412318 - dark amber stag bone. the blades are 420.
comes in a nice box with a pouch.

not too bad a price imo.

That is a nice example of what the ex-Schrade folks can do.
You must have a good contact...or was that eBay? That is an excellent price.

bill, i lucked out found on ebay before all the hype. made a abid and won a week later. i was surprised i got it for that price.

i have had great schrade knives but these are the best quality i've seen. the handles are wonderful. blades are crinked perfectly.
imo it's better than case production knives.

Schrade could make some fine knives, especially in the Custom Shop.
Here is a bone handled stockman, no shield, from the shop...with a sheath by our own sheathmaker (Paul Long).

Anyway, nice knife Johnnie.

That's really a great looking knife! I've been seriously considering buying
either a Canal Street 3 1/4", 3-blade stockman OR a 4 1/8", 2-blade
trapper...I've been visiting their website for a couple weeks now, looking
at prices, specs, etc.

You seem to be quite satisfied with their craftsmanship, QC, etc...
(Comparable to Case??)

I own quite a few Case stockman patterns...and Schrade Old Timers and Uncle Henrys...but I'm wondering...If I were looking to expand my "collection" in a new direction...would you (based upon your recent acquisition) recommend Canal Street knives? Have you ever dealt with them directly?

i collect mainly case knives as well. this knife is on a par with older case knives in workmanship. the bone covers are superb. the fit and finish is excellent. the only drawback is the blade material,420. i would prefer cv.
the blades are sharp and crinked to not rub. so... based on my knife, i would definitly buy other canal patterns.

I have talked to Mr. Gardiner and Mr. Hufnagel on the phone. They are no doubt very good businessmen. They are also very nice people, their
philosophy I believe is to make a success of CSC and stay in business for the betterment of the knife community. Bryan,If you read this I bet if you called them they would they would be willing if time was available to post some of their product info on this site. I currrently have two of their knives of which I have extolled the virtues before.

I've been meaning to pick up a few Canal Street knives, that picture sure gives me some incentive to do so. Great picture, AH, the hunt is on. I've heard a lot of good things about Canal Street.

I own only one CS, a muskrat. I can vouch for the quality of this one for sure. Top notch group, CSC is.



I give them a big thumbs up.
