The first one is a lockblade, 5 1/2 closed, 9 3/8 open. Its actually very clean and tight with one miner crack at the bottom pin. Its stamped Ulster Knife Co. N.Y. in three straight lines. I know Ulster dates way back in the mid to late 1800's to around 196O? Can anybody kind off date when they built this type of lockblade,,,,,i'm guessing around 1890-1910????? Does anybody know for sure? This knife has swedges that run from the tip to the tang on both sides.
The next knife is a brute! Its a 5 1/4 inch saddlehorn and is a inch thick! Heck the shield is 1 7/8" long. This knife is Old, the blades and nail nicks and swedges appear to be hand ground. All i can read from a combination of looking at both tangs is that UNION is probably the first word, then its unreadable and that NA???T??CK C? is on the botton. The ????? are simply letters that i cant make out or there gone.
