Schrade Walden 2005?

This may have been covered in another discussion, but I have noticed several Schrade-Walden knives on ebay the past couple of days that supposedly wers made in the USA in 2005! Or at least that is the way I am reading the ads ... They look to be really nice knives, but are they genuine? I thought Schrade closed the doors in 2004. Are these Schrade-Waldens the predecessors of Canal Street? Or were they the "leftovers" from the closing in 2004, liquidated in 2005? Was the Schrade-Walden brand supposedly separate from the Schrade brand that Taylor pirated and sold out to the Chinese?

Sorry ... I am asking too many questions and making up my own possible answers ... ::tired::

Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Those knives were commissioned by Taylor to Camillus. They are U.S.A. knives alright, and some of them at least are very nice. I have a brown jigged bone 4 1/8 inch two blade trapper that is nice indeed, but they are not from Schrade U.S.A.

The inside paper in the one I have sitting in front of me (SCW 11897R) states:

"The Ellenville, NY factory closed in 2004 and production was moved to Camillus, New York."

"Used Under License from Taylor Cutlery, LLC"

Ah ... I see, said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw ...

So, while they are indeed USA knives, they are not "Schrade-Walden" Schrade-Waldens. Well, I still may take a chance on one or two, since they are so nice-looking ... if anything, I can add them to my EDC rotation ... ::nod::

Calvin nailed it.
These were knives that Taylor had Camillus make for them.
I have a few ob them. I consider them to be a Camillus, not a Schrade, however since Camillus made a lot of Schrades knives there isn't a lot of difference. They are well made, quality materials with good F & F.

Bottom line: they are a good quality knife, especially for the price you can get them now.
