All About Pocket Knives

trying out my scanner. this is a 6275 spey blade someone has put into a different frame. any ideas as to which frame? it's a great carry.
the covers are sort of an appaloosa bone with a large oval shield on the back side. the blade is stamped 6275. has a nail mark cuttout.
at any rate this is a test of scanning. i usually use a digital camera but i have seen some good results using a scanner. i'll keep honing my technique. pointers?

I never could get the scanner thing to work for me. I have seen some good images of knives come from a scanner though. I don't know how they do it??

I don't recognize the frame on that knife either. I don't think it is a Case frame.

I use a scanner often, mine is an old HP 3200C, I scan at the standard resolution of 150 dpi, I remove the scanner top and use something else for background (in this case a piece of blue foam), I use the software that comes with the scanner for resizing and cropping but not to decrease compression quality, I save pictures as .jpg.

After saving I use PhotoFiltre if I want correction in brightness/contrast (usually not necessary), for sharpening filter (often good to make things like tang stamps easier to read) and I save with a value of 70 in jpeg compression quality (this will make the picture use much less disk while still being good quality for viewing on a computer monitor).

thanks for the input. back to the old digital camera.

as for the knife, in person the quality is very evident. fit and finish are as good a quality as any premium knife.
