All About Pocket Knives

I picked up a counter-top display case the other day. It is made of steel and painted a light brown. It is triangle shaped if viewed from the end and shaped like a 3 sided prism. It is about 12" high and about 29" long. There is a locked door on the backside of the triangle and a glass front on the other side. Below the glass is "JOHN PRIMBLE (shield) FINE CUTLERY". The bottom on the inside is compartmentalized for holding stock. There is a removable strip at the inside back and across the middle to write prices on. It is pretty good condition with the normal scratches and minor dents in the metal. The name on the front is in white and looks good. The shield in the center of the name has faded out but it can still be read. Can anyone date this case and give me some idea of its value? Welcome to the forums...

Dating the case would be difficult without a pic....even with a pic it may be tough to date it exactly. But based on the way the trademark is written as you have described it, I would guess post WWII but prior to 1980.

You'll find lots of very informed knife people here. Yes I agree with Knifeaholic, some pics of your find would greatly help. There are several Primble collectors around these parts, including myself. So get out the camera and shoot us some pics....later, wt3l
