All About Pocket Knives

Check out this remington knife. Look closely at the condition and at the stag handles. Notice the buyer. Then check out the next auction, notice the seller, does the knife look familiar? Notice how the codition of the knife has changed. The seller didn't mention how the knife has had its blade replaced.

If you drag the 2 pictures out and compare them side to side, there is no mistaking that the stag handles are the same, I'm guessing the frame and backspring are the same to. Someone has just replaced the blade. I'm not saying the knife is a counterfeit, which it isn't, but it is a reworked knife. Seeing as how the seller recevied the knife in one condition and is selling it in another, I believe it would be morally correct to mention that the blade has been replaced. It probablly wouldn't be as profitable though. Whats your take on this subject?

I'm totally in agreement with you there remington collector.
The first seller seemed to be a pretty straight shooter when describing the knife. I believe the second seller knows quite well what he is doing to misrepresent the knife. Even mentioning a top book value, then lightly denigrating his knife, and IMO, implying it is in a good natural condition.

Salted up a tidy profit didn't he ?? The un-scrupulous nature of some sellers never ceases to amaze me . Thank goodness we have folks like you here. I won't EVER buy any Rem w/o your perusal/approval. Thanks for being here and sharing your knowledge/expertise. -Glenn
