My first post.....I know nothing about repairing or building knives. Am semi-retired farmer/rancher after being active for nearly 50 years. Am sure I will have alot of really ignorant questions.

Ignorant questions are

at AAPK.
Everyone starts somewhere an zero or close to it.
Ask plenty questions because there are a lot of people here who are more than willing to share what they know.
Check out the new tutorial and it will answer many questions you may have about knife repair. It will also raise questions for you.

Ask away! That is how you learn.
Welcome to the friendliest knife forum on the web!'

Hi JohnD
Glad to have you join us here at AAPK.
Ask all the questions you want to. Folks around here are always glad to help.
By the way, not everyone here is a knife mechanic. Some of us are just accumulators.
(like me

)

Hi John,
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
Welcome to the friendliest board on the net.

sorry about being so late to reply to your warm welcome.......Been gone several weeks.
I live just west of Billings, Montana and have been a farmer/rancher all of my adult life. My wife and I sold our outfit and moved closer to town....just part of getting older. Am not into really serious photography, but can probably learn to post pictures on this site. Am pretty handy with the hardware part of computers, but not as handy with the software.
I just posted a question about a couple of Schrade 825's.
best wishes
JohnD

Welcome to the crowd - This is a pretty friendly grou so ask away and heck you might even get an answer or at least a good guess...
I am one of the odd ones here as I do not collect knives - I modify stock knives in my own way.
