All About Pocket Knives

Here's a pic of a CRKT that my boss took from his son and gave to me. It has really good steel. Does anyone have a clue as to value?

It is nice but my first thought was why did he take it from his son?

Here's a link to their 2009 catalog. Your knife does not appear in it, so apparently it is a discontinued model. CRKT is constantly changing their lineup. The closest thing I could find in current producton was priced at about $40 on the Smoky Mountain Knife Works website, but that was not the same knife. They had others that ran up to about $80. I do not know if there is a collector market for these knives which would increase the value of a discontinued model.

Looks like a Sealtac II, possibly stamped on the pile side tang? They were designed by Jim Hammond in around 1981, not really sure when the collaboration knife came out, but it's been discontinued for a good number of years. It may have been one of CRKT's first knives. I believe the blade steel is 420HC, but I'm not positive. It's a very well built knife, had a couple myself but sold them a number of years ago, generally not going for more than $30 or $40 bucks with the sheath as far as I remember. I'd check Ebay's completed listings for Sealtacs for a pretty good idea of what it's worth. Here's a few pics with the sheath:
