All About Pocket Knives

Well, i was wondering what knife i should post first and thought, what better than my first ever knife that i got.

This was given to me to sell on the internet but after researching it, i started to fall in love with it and it remains a favourite of my collection.

Made by Joseph rodgers circa 1920, it has a polished grey buffalo scale, three blades in a stockmans pattern. Long pulls. Nickel silver bolsters, pins and shield. Completely unused. The tangs are stamped with RODGERS CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY and No6 Norfolk St Sheffield England. The blades are also stamped with the company's logo star and cross.

a keeper for sure, andy. great knife.

I can understand why it is unused.........
I can't imagine castrating a bunch of cattle with a beauty like that.
What if you dropped it!!!

Phil, you are quite right, the buffalo is very delicate on this knife, it would crack quite easily if dropped. Perish the thought

Here is my Jos Rodgers stockman. If I remember correctly, Andy, you suggested this one was circa 1950ish. s-k

Fantastic knife Steve, nice to have the blade marked like that, nice and deep marks too.

And yep! I would agree with that very intelligent person who said 1950's

This "Stockman's Friend" is now my EDC.

Here is a strangely marked Rodgers. I suspect it is from the "conglomerate era".

I saw an I*XL on ebay that looked exactly like it and it was marked I*XL Wostenholm.
It is a slightly bigger knife than the Stockman's Friend I have posted above.
This one has faux stag ( plastic ) handles.
