All About Pocket Knives

I found an old Case at an estate sale Friday.
2-5/8" in length. The handles had to go.
I took a scan of it & stripped the old celluloid off the knife.
I am thinking about putting ivory handles on it, or yellow bone.

Johnnie dated it at 1914-1919 with the CASE/BRADFORD/PA. tang stamp.

Since I know next to nothing about Case, I would really appreciate anything you can tell me about this knife. Does anyone have an idea of the value of this knife?
The blades are not dark, although they do have patina. The black blades are a result of the "scanner effect."

Maybe a 3201 pattern? No ideas on value.

I have no idea about the value but a little ivory and a little polish and you'd have a nice knife!

Pretty sure it's a 61 pattern. The 01 pattern is only 2 5/8". But the 61 is 2 7/8". I found pics in Dewey Ferguson, and Parker's. But no 3261. There is a 9261, which would be imitation pearl.
Were the handles yellow? or mottled?
The 61 pattern number was also later used on a larger lever switchblade, adding some confusion. . . . . . .

i think charlie is right, 9261 pattern. imitation pearl. with no bolsters, might be called a 92061? cool knife dale.

Orvet says the knife is 2 5/8", the handle material, before he stripped it off looked to be yellow celluloid, not cracked ice. Orvet, you will have to let us know if the cell was cracked ice or yellow cell, but if the length was 2 5/8", I think it would be a 3201.

that is why closed length is important for research. 2 5/8" would lean to the 01 pattern.

The celluloid was not mottled, not cracked ice, just a solid yellow color.

Sounds like it is a 3201. If it was me I'd try to find some old yellow celluloid from Case and rehandle it in the original (or as close as possible) material. Well, if it was me and I had the skill to do it. The knife looks like it is in pretty good shape, except for the cracked handles.

New glasses are in order ! I thought Dale wrote 2-7/8". Did you edit it Dale? Maybe?
Gotta agree with msteele, it's a 3201 if it's 2 5/8" !

It's an 01 pattern variation...the 61 is 2-7/8" and has a slightly tapered shape.

In the Tested era the 001 indicated tip bolsters, not "shadow"...but the further back you go the more changes there were. It may have been considered a 32001 or even a 3201 back then depending upon how many variations were in production at the time it was made.

Hello nice old knife in the tested era ( 20s/40s ) this knife is worth $100 with out bail and $110 with bail in mint condition. I would say it is worth a little more just becouse it's older I don't have no kind of price guide for the tested ers knives. Here is my opion of restoring the knife if it helps, I would put original stlye handles ( yellow comp ) just to keep an authentic look. But either way I'm sure it will look good
