Any thoughts on this one? I have some...

In my totally uneducated opinion and untrained eyes it looks to have a worn shield yet mint blades??? To me something about the stamping looks funny on both the blade and shield. Is the jigging correct?
I hope some of the members who know what they're talking about voice their opinions. Because I'm just guessing.

Another "across the room" phony......for starters, Case never made a lockback whittler until the recent Tony Bose version. Beyond that, there are three important clues that its a fake:

Reason #1 Nothing about the knife looks anything a real Case knife.

Reason #2 Nothing about the knife looks anything a real Case knife.

And finally:

Reason #3 Nothing about the knife looks anything a real Case knife.

I can honestly say I've never seen you sugarcoat it like that, knifeaholic.....

i too saw that one on ebay and when i clicked it and didnt even have to read any description. as soon as i saw the pic and the jigging, i didnt have to look any further. i spent all of about 4 seconds on that auction...lol. i spent more time writing this reply than looking at that knife...lol. easily a fake.

Some things in this hobby never cease to amaze me. I suggest that all of us watch this and be amazed at how much it sells for.

Yes this kind of thing makes me sick....especially when you consider that - especially when it comes to Case knives - there is so much documented material available, knife books, etc.....if someone did even some rudimentary book learnin' they could easiliy spot this one as a fake...

I am sure that I can find a mint "Winchmenington" sowbellied dog board that will no doubt bring a nice dollar.

Bryan, we have to go world wide with this site, but I guess we already are, I think that someone is missing the boat here . They just don't mind wasting money. I actually feel sorry for these bidders. I wish ebay would make it mandatory that all questions be posted, but of course I am sure that someone would abuse that too.

Did you notice that the winner sniped it in the last 10 seconds, without ever putting a bid in on it before the end? I know different folks have different feelings about sniping, but in this case I find it amusing.

Well....You ain't gonna believe THIS, either! I bought a knife identical to this at a gun/knife show. Checked out the fake and re-sold it on Ebay, as a fake!!!! I dare say, it sure looks like the little piece of junk I traded a pretty nice Case XX for. Once I learned it had been made in China (according to Jim Parker), I decided to resell it, but identify it as a phoney. I think the high bid was $35.00, or something like that. Anyway, I'd sure love to talk, mano-a-mano, to the weasel who is passing it off as real! What a jerk! [/u]
