New York Cutlery Co. was the forerunner to the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery CO. It started as a cutlery import company located in NY City. The second and third images below are of a razor imported from Germany. Even that early they had great graphics in their tang stamp design. This is the only one I have ever seen. I am hoping that some others on this forum will have other examples.

The first example below is from an invoice after the company had moved to Gowanda, NY and started manufacturing there. David Krauss’ book, (http://www.americanpocketknives.com) starting on page 15 has some well researched information on the part of the S&M history.

Nice rare piece, David. Thank you for showing it!!
Looks like bone handles, and minty condition;
two of my favorite things to see!

Bret & I just bought this knife from Galvanic1882. I love that the pearl has a shield. It is a beauty!
