All About Pocket Knives

Been working on a new project for a while and I finally got the software bugs worked out.

My goal is to list every knife and gun show in the USA on this calendar site. The calendar software I'm using makes it easy to allow people to add their own events without the need to register as a site member (I have to manually approve the submitted listings, but that's not a bad thing

I'm also preparing articles on knife and gun show etiquette, plus tips on how to buy and sell at shows. I will also post news articles concerning shows, including legal issues, new show info, and ANYTHING related to knife and gun shows (and the clubs/associations that put them on).

Here's where I need some help:

--I'd like your opinions about the site so far

--I need to know about the knife and gun shows that are happening -- whether it's your club's show or just one you know about.

Still working on getting some "quick and easy" links for bringing up shows by state or type without using the Search feature.

I found that there is no perfect calendar software, only ones with less work than others to get it to where you want it.

Finally, got the quick links made, so you can select the state you want and the type of event. I'm not a "real" programmer (sorta self taught), so it takes me about 5 times as long to figure this stuff out

Have to thank my wife Kris for taking the time to enter all the shows (it's a messy job, but the shows won't post themselves). I'm handling the technical stuff and the search engine optimization.

This is looking very good. It's so much easier to use than trying to google all the shows I'm interested in. I can sit at my desk and fill in my calendar from one website.

I hope folks take the time to forward this to all the show chairmen and promoters that they know.

Once we get a large chunk of gun shows listed, we plan to do a mailing to as many show organizers/promoters as we can find.

BTW, if you use an online calendar like Google Calendar or Yahoo Calendar or desktop software like Apple's iCalendar or Microsoft's vCalendar, there are features in each listing to automatically enter the event info into your calendar. No need to write it down or copy and paste.

Still looking for any knife show that I have may have overlooked.

Anyone have a knife club that holds regular swap meets or mini shows?
