Schrade

Hey all Schraders...
Someone asked about the difference between the Schrade BB-166 and the Buck 120 General. Ive posted a picture and will attempt to get the link correctly.
Both knives are exactly the same in length.
As you will see the Schrade is thicker in handle and blade.

They are some BIG knives there Larry. I haven't come across a 166 yet but I do have the General and that is one nice hunk of steel.

Hi Larry, guess you won't be referred to as "Irv" here with your handle in caps. Ever see a Sears Craftsman like this one? It looks like it was made by Schrade, but doesn't match up directly to a Schrade model like most of the knives that Schrade made for Sears.

Wish I could get Michael and Dale connected. Both are having connection issues.
I'm working with Bryan on the routing issue. Not sure we can correct it since the problem is outside his network.
I have another picture of this Sears knife which I'll try and post in the am.

I made it back on last evening and everything seems to be normal. the only difference I can tell is it seems to be a little slower going from thread to thread, but that could also be my imagination. It's a great site and I'm glad to be able to get back on. I think Phil is considering opening a store on this site and our old buddy El Lobo already has one so there's you alternative to ebay. If you haven't already click on their stores and take a look.

This knife was called by Sears the Craftsman "Heavy Skinner", and I am pretty sure it is an Imperial, though not one produced under the Imperial tang that I have seen. The tang is partially hidden, and the design was flawed. FOur out of five of these I have seen had a stress crack in the Staglon delrin on the top where the tang entered the handle. To me, these knives have features that shout "Imperial", and some that whisper Schrade Uncle Henry. Blade profile is like a short 165OT, Staglon handles like a 165UH with the fromt shape like a 15OT, and the spine grooves seen on both Schrades and Imperials of the 1960's.
