All About Pocket Knives

Someone must have left the gate to the knife bin open.

Found quite an eclectic bunch, The little micras make good trading stuff and who can turn down Bucks(3).Kershaws.Kbar and Cutco(1ea),Westerns(2),CRKT(2)and 9 other USA mades.The CRKT's were both Taiwan(didnt realize it til later, would have bought them anyway)
They are really well made. There is another post in forums about a Daisy BB pistol from 1949.

The most interesting thing I got was the Case Sheath(if you can, pull it into my pictures and enlarge it to see the mark and tool work). Does anyone know how old it might be or what pattern it was made for, I tried a Clasp Hunter and the sheath is just two big. Pa Knives, if you see this the only marking on the sheath other than the obvious is inside the back side of the snap, where is clear in caps KANE. Is that in your opinion or anyone elses for that matter a brand name of snap, does it mean Kane Pa.???? I would guess the sheath was made for at least a 5" long six blade knife.

Anyway saturday was a nice day for cutlery.

mossdancer, i bought my father in law an older case xx sharks tooth knife a while back and it came with the original box and a case sheath just like that one which i assumed then and now as being the original sheath for the knife. i forget what year the knife was, but the sheath was with it and it fit in it just right. i assume that would be the correct pattern knife for that sheath.

No, this is not Kane PA. There is a Kane made in germany and that would more likely be what you have. Kane Cutlery always stamped with the Cutlery after it. Kane from Germany did as you mentioned. TAKE a close look at it. Nice looking though. nice fine, congratulations

Case started using the cordovan "basketweave" style sheaths in 1978. Prior to that they offered a smooth leather sheath with a rounded bottom in tan or black, each in two sizes, medium and large.
