Things that look like knives

How about a thread with items that look like knives but aren't. This is an old match safe.

That match safe is pretty cool David. I never saw anything like it.

Only item I have is a pencil box. If a kid carried one of these to school now days, he'd probably get sent for a psychiatric evaluation, and his parents accused of endangerment.

If today's wacking laws were retroactive, us old geezers would all be convicted felons.

I also have an Avon hair brush that looks like a Sunfish, and some of you may remember the Chocolate mold of a knife that I have as well. I know some of you have wooden knives in your collection. Let's see em.

Neat stuff.

No marks on the match safe, it was just one of those things I saw at an antique shop that yelled "buy me" ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds:: it was different and I like that.

Couple more items for this thread I thought you might enjoy seeing. I mentioned these before.

This sorta fits the category (not really!). Here is a metal block used for printing Case catalogs, along with an impression my wife made in her press. It just happens to represent a Harness Jack!

A friend in New York found it at a knife show, and sent it to me.
Sorry there aren't many details. It is fortunate my wife does some block printing. Her little studio (which I built for her) is perfect for one-off prints.
I'm sure I've seen this identical image in an old Case catalog. I'll have to look as I have time, to see if I can find it again.

Here's a knife that looks like something else!! (since it's April Fools Day!)
Looks like some napkin rings I've owned in more genteel days!
The only marking is "ROSTFREI" on the main.

This looks like a knife, and it came straight from the Case factory to me. Anyone know what it is? ::shrug:: I'll let you guess a while before I tell you. :)

Thanks to all who participated.

Russell is the winner. Unfortunately I spent all the prize money on my knife collection. :P

I contacted Case and pointed out an error in their "Case College" website where they had misidentified a particular blade shape. I jokingly suggested to them that they send me a new Case knife as a reward for helping them eleviate that embarassing error.
I got a very nice reply indicating they would not be sending me a knife but would be sending me a gift as a token of their appreciation. The refrigerator magnet was what they sent me.
Now, who says it doesn't pay to go to college?

I still have no idea what they are. Certainly cutlery related and neat looking, but other than that ::shrug::

Regarding the Remington item above, is there by any chance or might have there been at one time, a thin blade mounted down inside between the two halves?

If so, it could have been an envelope opener or mail slitter.

Just a thought.

Its possible there could have been a blade there, it would have to be held in by fricition. The entire item is made up of jet black pyremite, and even looks like it has a back spring, but it doesn't, it even rolls up on one end following the bolster .Theres no hole for a pin or anything. I can see no evidence of there ever being anything mounted inside. Possibly it was going to be a letter opener, but left the factory early.

A retired fellow in Georgia contacted me with a knife to sell. I didn't buy the knife, but chatted with him a few times, and when he said he had taken up whittling, I sent him a few old knives I had kicking around. Good old steel for the job.
He sent me back some of his efforts. Nice aromatic cedar, perfect for tossing in a drawer with seasonal clothing.
