the number 923500 is stamped on the main blade of this folder, what does
it stand for? Not sure of the style, I'm sure its not a stockman or trapper ect.. Been out of the collecting loop for some time. Handle is waterfall type, multi-colored horizontal stripes. Will send pics when I get this scanner figured out.

Hi Pete,
The first number or letter is the Handle Material:
9- French Pearl Celluloid, Christmas Tree Celluloid, ShurWood, Gunmetal falls into this catagory.
The second number is the number of blades, so it's a two blade knife.
The third number is the Liner and Bolster Material:
3- Nickel Silver Liner and bolster
The fourth, fifth and sixth numbers are the Factory Pattern Number that indicated the knife model.
Try to post a picture or two, this may help to identify the age of your knife by what kind of tang stamp it has. We can get pretty close to the age or era of your knife if I can look and see what your tang mark was stamped as. For instance a knife with the tang stamped ROBESON/CUTLERY was made between 1896-1899 and a tang stamped as ROBESON/SHUREDGE/U.S.A was made between 1940-1964.
