A Butterfly Type Rumored to be CIA early 60's

Hi;
I was cleaning out some junk and just about through this guy out. After looking at how well it was made I decided to investigate a bit. A fellow from the company on handle said he had been asked about it before. He had never seen one, I sent him photos. Can you imagine a business still on dial up. Do not send him big files if you have the desire to. He surmised it was purchased by an old defunct plywood plant here in Astoria for a service gift or something of the sort. After looking further I found one in John Gibsons Military collection. He mentions they were issued to CIA in early 60's in Viet Nam. Another article says the were sold in the base exchange stores in that same period. Anyway they are worth more than a thin dime so I thought one of you guys might be able to give some more info. Although it looks like a butterfly it is not functional as one due to the light weight and nylon grips.
