All About Pocket Knives

I would like to say hello and welcome to everyone who visits allaboutpocketknives.com. My name is Bryan Sanders. I am a knife addict, and I am the administrator of this website. I have been working on the project in my spare time for about a year now. It started as an attempt to learn how to make websites, and has evolved into what it is now. I hope that some of you find it helpful and I hope some of you will stick around to see what it will become in the future.

Yes, I know how life goes sometimes... I hope all is o.k. with you and yours! Glad to see that you haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

As for the retail... I couldn't justify puting much more time into this project unless I could make a little $ or at least break even.

I'm a certified knife addict,my wife will attestto that! My name is Aaron Dillehay, I'm 45 and used to spend alot of time at gun shows and auctions. My brother-in-law got me interested in knives at the auctions buying the fantasy fixed blades,but that wasn't my thing. I hade picked up acouple of pocketknives that were pretty worn and things went from there. The knife show on monday and friday night occupies those days ,watching ebay,and AAPK. It's really been a blast over the past year. You can many more knives for the money than buying and trading guns without all the federal red tape. Well thats pretty much it from a 27 year electric utility lineman. A.D.

Welcome to the forums! I'm glad to see that there is at least one other gun nut around here. I like my guns almost as much as my knives.

Hello. I'm fairly new to this knife collecting thing. Thought this would be a good place to start. My coolection isn't that large yet. Not sure really how it started. My wife thinks I'm plain crazy for spending the time that I do looking at pocket knives and reading about them when I can. I tell her it's just like collecting coins, antiques, or anything else that interests people. I don't know how it started, but it could be alot worse, right? My other interests are motorcycles and dancing. One's too expensive at this time and the other is on hold since my wife just had a baby. Have worked in construction for about 10 years and have recently changed careers to teaching. So far, so good. (Thanks for the interesting site).

Wives hardly ever seem to understand the addictive properties of the knife. Just wait until you really get hooked.

Well here is another true blue gun nut.
I have been handloading and creating my own wildcats since I was 16. In Ca. I could not even by a .22 cal rimfire when I was 16, (1972) but I could buy all the primers, bullets, and as much gunpowder as I wanted-go figure. I'm sure that is not the case anymore.
Wives definitely don't understand the gun and knife addiction, but I don't understand her addiction to sparkly stuff, diamonds and other shiny things.

Hi Guys! This is how I was able to persuade my wife to share in my passion for knives. I found an old knife from OL CUT in NY in a tool box that belonged to her late step father. I spent some serious time in repairing the broken handle and replacing it with a new one, buffing the blade and finished by making her a scabbard of the handle material. She loved it! Now she shares the passion. She gives me knives for birthdays etc.. and goes to the Blade Show!
