If you don't mind me asking, did they replace the blade as a warranty item?

I had a shield pop out after my wife put the knife through the wash 5 or 6 times.
Emailed case repairs, it took them about a week to respond but they say there is a new shield in the mail, no charge.

the blade was broke off completely
and yes it was fixed under warranty
the knife is a 1940-1964
i thought they would put a big new shiny blade in it
but to my surprise it is a older blade that matches well--very nice

Cool!! I have 8 knives that I sent in for repair about mid Sept that should be close to ready. Never saw them put an older correct-era blade in one but thats awesome, maybe they'll do mine like that. Sent 3 18's, a 32 pattern, an XX 042 pattern, a 47, forgot what else, but they have always done unbelievable work. They can certainly turn trash into a treasure :P

Thats why a Case is a Case, they are awesome switched hands a few times over the years and still cover warranties WOW couldn't ask for anything more.
