Can I torch a stag handle the 2nd time?

I cleaned a stag handle too much.

Most of the black is gone now.

What do I do to prepare it for the torch?

Hey Ken,

Sure... you can torch it, until you get it the way you want it. I would prob. clean the Ren Wax off the handle first - but that's just me. The torch will prob. burn the wax off, neway.

Just keep the flame away from the blade ! A lttle heat goes a long way.

I had to wait until the camera batteries recharged.

Here is what it looks like now.

no springs to worry about.

So just torch it carefully. KOOL 8)

I can see why you would want to torch it again, the close up photos of the handle look like the shrunken carrot that I found in the bottom of the fridge yesterday....

This was rather EZ to do. I would say it was like a wood burning project way back in Boy Scouts with a wood-burning pen (I used a torch). Of course I did not have bolsters or springs to mess with.

A fast burn is best, so not to burn away the nobs. I think I went to slow on the burn. Lost some nobs...But I learned.

O well I am please with the end results.
