Odd Remington item

Not sure what these are exactly. I think they are unfinished knife handles. The Remington name is molded or embossed in the side. Some kind of black material like smooth black on Case knives. One ends open where the blade would pivot, the other end is closed. the back where the spring would normally show is closed like a closed back knife (kind of like a wallkill) There are no holes drilled for pins. About 3" long. Any idea's? I can't find any thing similar in the old Remington catalogs. Any help would be appreciated. I've got 2 of these.

They do resemble knive handles but Remington usually didn't stamp their name on nickel silver handles, normally they were left unstamped or were stamped with some form of advertising. I'd sure like to take a upclose look at one of them. What would you take for one?

Sure seems like there should be a simple explaination.

Wish it was as easy as just knowing the blade was missing! ::dang::

I bought this knife on ebay. It is the same handle, but with no pattern number. It has two backsprings in it with two pins holding the backsprings instead of the usual single pin. Main blade rides on both springs and pen blade rides on one spring. Not 100% sure its factory made. I'm hoping maybe Remington collector could help verify it. ::hmm::

Thats a new one to me. I've never saw another like it. I feel sure it was never marketed to the public, possibly a prototype or made by an employee in the Remington factory.
