Queen did not stamp thier knives for several years. [mid to late fiftys through early seventys if i remember correctly] They used an etch out on the blade. Hope this helps.

hey chris, nice pick up. as to it's authenticity i can't answer. true proto type knives were often roughly finished and the absence of a tang stamp would be no surprise. they were design works not yet produced. nowadays "prototype" is used to sell new knives with different handle materials.

Thanks guys. Looking in Sargents their is a Barlow that looks just like this one and it's a Winter Bottom Bone 5" Barlow with a Stamp; It's a Proto that is valued at $200. This knife also has that long clip blade and Fully Sunk Joint, this is a very unushall combination and IMO makes it a very good Queen canidate. What you all think? also 1950's no 1970's I'm thinking this knife could be
thank you for the direction

Well I e-mailed the Ebayer and he wrote this.
Chris,
Sorry nother info except that I aquired this knife in a nice collection of Queen knives and was told it was bought from Queen knife rep. in the 70's. The Queen knife I have listed now was in that collection.
Thanks,
Dan
Sounds honest by all means, I was hopin he would say turn to page 145 in "the book??" Proto valued at $350 ...lol
Thank you, I'am in love with the Satg on this knife.
