Did you ever notice how things come in batches ?
I searched for a couple of months for a usable ol' easy open for a friend. I finally found an Imperial with full blades, nice bone, and the '36 - '52 stamp. I was becoming attached to it, and so boxed it up last Friday to await the re-introduction of the USPS on Tuesday, after their long weekend of celebrating the somewhat dubious discovery of the Americas.
I haven't found EO's to be among the most common patterns to come across, but this weekend saw at least 6 others.
Due to an unfortunate chip in the bone under the center pin and a tight crack, I almost passed this one up. The rather full blades, Philadelphia stamp, and warm old worm groove with hand set pins won out over my better judgement, and this old Battle Axe just may see some pocket time.

Thats a real beauty! Easy opens are one of my favorite patterns, but yet I don't have one at the moment.

The bone on that one has great color and the tang stamp is neat as well! Nice find.

I am with Johnnie.
A man of you collectors status should have a nice Imperial Easy-Open Jack (made in the USA, of course)!
You shouldn't be packin' some old no-name knife from some defunct wanna-be company.
If you will send me that old knife (notice they didn't even use good plastic handles but old pieces of bone & even that has pits in it) I will send you a gin-u-wine Imperial easy-open jack, made rite here in the US of A by Americans!
I wouldn't do this for just anyone Fran, but you bein' special an all, (I don't want to talk about your brain transplant in a public forum, but the little feller was cute in them glasses) I will do it for you.
Let me know good buddy.

Dale, you forgot to mention the fact that they didn't even use good bone on those handles, they went with the cheap worm eaten ones

.
Nice find Fran!

Fran,
I would like to commend you not only for your excellent taste in cutlery, but also for your profound skill at chasing away the buzzards when they start to circle!

Fran,
If you send it to me I promise I will share it with Charlie.
I will keep the knife for a year & then give it to Charlie for every other odd numbered leap year!
Dale
(I get more knives that way)
