All About Pocket Knives

Well they aren't exactly pocketknives, although most have a knife blade or two in them, but they sure can come in handly. I'm talking about those multi tools like the Leatherman line and the Gerber Multiplier. How many of you guys carry one, and which one do you carry?

I carry a Leatherman Supertool 200 often around the farm or when I'm camping.

I carry a Gerber when fishing. I will have to look up the model number.
I have a bunch of these things.
It might be fun to start a thread & post pics of all the different models we can come up with.

You asked for it, you got it......Here goes!

Here's a older Gerber Multi-Plier I used to carry and the Leatherman Supertool 200 I now use.
The Gerber has been responsible for numerous blood blisters on the palm of my hand when the pliers slipped off something and it closed on my hand. OUCH !!!!
The Leatherman is much more user friendly IMO.

had this gerber for a while. does what it was designed for and the blade takes a great edge.

Does that Gerber have needle nose pliers or blunts? Can't tell from pic and I'm curious. It looks like a much more modern one than the one I used to carry. It has a much better lock up design than the older model.

hey phillip, i guess they are blunt, a hair over 1/16" at the tip. slide locks work well on all features. the pliers have a seperate button lock up.

I have the same Gerber Johnnie has. Mine came with about 8 additional bits that you can use on one of the screwdrivers. I have noticed that when the liers are fully extended they are a little wobbly. is this the case with yours? Also, are these American made? I can't find any markings on them anywhere.

mine have a very minimal movement, about the same as properly adjusted standard pliers. mine is stamped gerber over u.s.a. i've had them for quite a while.

I have a number of tools I carry around. In my laptop bag right now I have a Schrade ST1 I've owned for the better part of a decade.

Great tool, I love the twisted handles that let you get to the blades without flipping everything open. I've got a Victorinox cybertool 34 that hangs out in my desk drawer, I list it because it's more tool than knife in my opinion And on my keys, to supplement whatever knive I happen to be carrying I have a Swiss Tech 8-in-1 that's absolutely indespensabe

I had been intending to post to this thread for some time.
I got a GREAT deal on a Leatherman Fuse last week with a knife.
So I thought I would post it & some of the others I have.

Schrade made 3 patterns in collaboration with Vise-Grip.
The Tool Box was sold only by Vise-Grip. The ST series were sold by Schrade.
I use the ST-6 all the time in my shop. Great tool.
I recently saw a Tool Box sell for around $100 on eBay.

I have a few, with my favorite being my Gerber Diesel that my wife got me two years ago. Very nice piece of equiptment.

Very nice collections Moss and Dale. There's a couple or three I had not seen before.
I love those multi tool gizwackers. They're so darned handy.

I actually love this tool.

I've carried an original Leatherman for the better part of a decade. Before that I had two Bucktools before that.

My poor Wave needs a trip to the shop but I use the damn thing every day. It's hard to part with it. It's not always the best tool but it's always the most handy.

Here is a very useful A-Tech multi tool that I got from cody6268 in the most recent POS exchange. Nothing POS about this, it has some very useful tools and functions. It is similar to the Leatherman Surge I have, but somewhat shorter and lighter because of the skeleton handles. All the tools lock open and there are 4 that open with the handles closed and 5 more with the plier handles open. The wire cutter cutting edges are replaceable if needed, my older Bucktool has a nice ding in the non replaceable wire cutter from trying to cut a piece of steel cable. I have been carrying it every day for a few weeks and it is very handy.
