All of the newer "old timers" made for Taylor Cutlery (who bought the Intellectual Property rights at the auction) are the same patterns as the originals...but, made in China. Taylor has the right to do as he pleases, of course, but it sure pains some of us.

There is a lot of old stock, seconds, work in progress, etc. flooding eBay currently, as well.

Nothing "fake" to it, just the new owner of the name is having the new Schrades made offshore.

There are some 'new' Schrade Walden's floating around. I've seen a few advertised as 1970s. They tend to come in a clear plastic tube. Are these original, maybe factory finds, or are they the new Taylor Chinese made using the Walden name? s-k

The Schrade-Waldens are American made, some debate as to Utica, Camillus or Bear and Son...or maybe all of the above. The plastic packaging is old stock from the factory, the knives are recently made, and marketed somewhat deceptively...in my opinion.

I just saw 3 of those last week in a store, wondered why the knives looked really new, but the plastic storage tubes were old looking with a little yellowish tint to the plastic.

The new schrade - Waldens are made in Camillus, New York. So the packaging says.

They hold a pretty good edge. I bought a few to play with. I've got one with filework and buffalo handles that I have been field testing.

For The record, The ones that I saw at the flea market did not have the name old timer it had a different name with the same style pattern color etc. I know that taylor has the rights for making Schrade old timers, but there are people who are making the same knife different name in China! Thanks GUYS for the replies!

Came across these on ebay, they look familiar. There are several "old timer" style patterns up from the same seller. Maybe the factory making knives for Taylor is making the same patterns for several companies. Here's the link:
